Our Model and Our Homes

Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver provides a pathway to homeownership for hard-working families who would not normally qualify for a traditional mortgage but are ready for the challenges and responsibilities of owning a home.

We support low to middle-income families by taking them out of the rental cycle. Monthly housing payments are not greater than 30% of their household income and families take a portion of these monthly payments with them when they are ready to leave and purchase a home in the traditional market.

Our partner families demonstrate a need for safe and affordable housing, can pay their monthly lease payments, and are willing to partner with us. Our families volunteer 500 hours, referred to as service hours, before moving into their home, by volunteering on the construction site to build their home or a home of another family, in our ReStores or with event and/or office support.

Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver has 27 three and four-bedroom townhomes in Burnaby, 12 two and-three bedroom units in Richmond, one apartment in Vancouver, two single-family homes in Abbotsford, 19 three-bedroom homes in Mission, and land for 42 homes in Coquitlam.

We are currently accepting applications for our two and three bedroom homes in Coquitlam. To see if you meet our criteria, complete Pre-Screening Form. (We are not currently accepting new applications for Coquitlam. We will re-open the process in the Spring. Thank you for your interest!)
